Equip 100,000 African Youth with Hands-On Cybersecurity Skills

CyberGen is a hybrid learning program designed to equip African youth with diverse skills, knowledge and certifications to join the cybersecurity workforce and related roles

Introduction to CyberGen

CyberGen by Africa Cyber Defense Forum (ACDF), is designed to provide hands-on training in cybersecurity fundamentals, including threat analysis, network security, and ethical hacking. The goal is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills they need to become leaders in the fight against cybercrime and help secure the digital landscape of Africa.

The cybersecurity training program is open to all young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who have an interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn. Participants will receive comprehensive training from experienced instructors who have expertise in the field and are committed to passing on their knowledge to the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

The program is scheduled to run for 4 months, with participants attending online training sessions and engaging in hands-on exercises to develop their skills. Upon completion of the program, participants will be awarded a certificate of achievement, which they can use to demonstrate their newly acquired cybersecurity skills to potential employers.

In addition to placement and internship opportunities, the program shall also include employment opportunities for participants who excel in the training. This will enable participants to apply the skills they have learned in real-world settings and gain valuable work experience that will enhance their career prospects.

Participants shall also go through intense hands-on skills assessment to gauge their understanding and application of the cybersecurity concepts taught during the training program. This will help to identify areas of strength and areas that require additional improvement, thereby ensuring that participants are well-rounded cybersecurity professionals.

The application shall be open to the pilot countries Kenya, Rwanda, Egypt, Morocco and Malawi. These countries were chosen as pilot countries due to their strategic importance in the African region, and we plan to expand the program to other countries in Africa in the future.
