CyberGen
CyberGen is a cybersecurity training program that is open to all young Africans between the age of 18 and 30 who have an interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn. Participants will receive comprehensive training from instructors who have experience in the field and are committed to passing on their knowledge to the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
The training program will run for four (4) months during which the Rwandan cohort will attend online training sessions and participate in hands-on exercises to develop their skills. Upon completion of the training, students shall be taken through in an intense hands-on skills assessment to gauge their understanding of the cybersecurity concepts and how to apply them. Students who excel in the training program will be eligible for internship opportunities.
“With the CyberGen program we aim to equip 100,000 African youth with hands-on skills, knowledge and certifications to join the cybersecurity workforce. Students from the Rwandan cohort who excel will get an opportunity for job placements and internship opportunities.” Gilbert Nyandeje, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Africa Cyber Defense Forum.
